Larry Brown began his career with the NFL in 1969 after being drafted by the Washington Redskins. During that time the coach was Vince Lombardi who is recognized today as one of the most outstanding coaches ever to coach in the NFL. Larry played with the Redskins for eight years.
On December 20, 1970 Rushing Champ Larry Brown
became the first Redskin since Cliff Battles in 1937 to win the NFL
rushing title. His totals: 1,125 yards on 237 carries, a 4.7 rushing
average.
He continued to excel and in 1972 he received the National Football League Player of the Year award.
